Shopping with Donde

When the folks over at Donde asked me to check out their new, easy-peasy shopping app, I jumped at the chance. A new way to shop from my phone? Um, yes please!

(Though I’ll admit, I need new access to shopping like I need a hole in my head! But back to the review.)

The first thing I noticed when I started using Donde is that it’s completely image based. You’re presented with icons of the type of garment you want to shop for: dresses, tops, shoes, whatever. The next step is filtering the results – which is actually where I think Donde really shines. Let me give you an example scenario: let’s say you’re shopping for shirts. Tap the shirt icon and scroll along the top filter bar to find exactly what you want. Sort by color, sleeve length (!!!), neckline, length, and more. Then, as if that wasn’t getting you to what you wanted fast enough – tap the FILTER button to sort by price – or by items on sale.

Another thing that I think is really unique about Donde is the ability to connect to your friends while you’re shopping. If you come across something you like in the app, you can easily tag your BFF to get her thoughts on it. With Christmas right around the corner, I can’t think of an easier way to get all of my friends to decide on that perfect gift we’re all chipping in on. You can also pin items to your Pinterest board for outfit inspo!

You can shop some popular plus retailers on Donde: ASOS Curve, Forever 21, Torrid, Nordstrom with their unique Universal Shopping Cart. What does that mean? Let’s say you found your shoes from Nordstrom and then the perfect dress from ASOS Curve. Add them both to your cart and put your credit card info in one time – and you’ll get your order. No going to multiple sites and re-entering your information over and over… it’s just quick and easy peasy.

Room for improvement: If I have one complaint about Donde (because nothing is perfect — yet) is that at the time of this writing, you can’t filter by size. Which means if you’re a size 8 or a size 28, you’re going to see the same stock. I know this can be frustrating for a lot of plus gals (so be sure to use that store filter – when selecting ASOS, I came across the CURVE range pretty easily). I’m crossing my fingers Donde will add this feature in the near future. I’d also love to see some more of my favorite plus retailers on Donde like: Eloquii, Addition Elle, Ashley Stewart and Navabi.

I will say, despite it being a bit cumbersome to find my size in an item, I love the Universal Shopping Cart and the social aspect. It’s almost like going to the mall with my girls – except we’re all at home in our onesies and a cup of tea – avoiding the chilly weather. Sounds like a great trade off to me!

Check out Donde – it’s free and available on your iphone & ipad! *A special thank you to Donde for this collaboration. As always, all opinions and styling are my own. Thank you, my readers and friends, for supporting all Sometimes Glam collaborations!
