Perfect Party Dresses Under $100
‘Tis the season. It’s on everyone’s brain – gifting, planning, baking and as usual, what to wear. With Festive Fridays kicking off this week, this question from a reader came at a perfect time:
I’m in the market for a fancy dress (not over $100) for a dress that’s going to do triple duty for my birthday (Dec 19), Christmas and NYE. Any suggestions?
I know a lot of ladies are on a budget, so dresses that will do double – or triple – duty are incredibly important. When you’re in this situation, defaulting to black is never a bad idea. You can make it look brand new each time you wear it by swapping out the accessories. Take your basic black dress and pick a theme – gold, silver, red, etc – or you can have fun with it and go for a multi-colored look by pairing it with colors that work well together. For example, hot pink heels and a glittery gold bow belt.
Jewel tone colors can be just as versatile too – and when all else fails and you don’t know what to wear with an emerald green dress, look at metallic accessories. They’re the perfect way to holiday-up your dress. Here are my top 8 pics for plus size holiday party dresses, under $ 100.
1. contrast tiered dress via macys 2. sequin little black dress via city chic 3. sequin illusion dress via lane bryant 4. purple lace via modcloth 5. emerald embellished waist dress via jessica howard 6. maraschino cheery red dress via modcloth 7. studio tiered dress via eloquii 8. badgley mischka rental via rent the runway
Okay, okay, I kind of cheated on that last one – it’s $40 from Rent the Runway – but I will offer up that if your budget is $100 and you want one special dress, spend wisely. Keep a $60 budget for the dress for the other events and rent a fabulous showstopper for the most important event!
And because RTR is awesome, they’re giving you $25 off your first rental – which brings the price of that Badgley Mischka dress from $40 to a measly $15! (I know, right?!) Browse their amazing plus collection here: Rent The Runway
I hope this helped you find the perfect holiday plus size dress on a budget!
