4 Must Have Scarves For Winter 2015
The greatest items in your closet are going to be the ones that you can wear over and again. It goes without saying that scarfs are exceptionally versatile. If you’re looking to update your wardrobe on the cheap, they’re going to be your best bet to add a bit of flourish. But even in the scarf world, there are plenty of sub-styles; silk, chiffon, square, rectangle, cashmere… the list goes on. I’m sharing my top 4 must have scarves for winter to keep you warm, cozy and of course, stylish. Also, you can shop some of my faves (nearly ALL are under $100) below each description.
The Blanket Scarf This is a huge trend for Winter 2015 (and has been popping up already) and plaid is the go-to pattern for this look. Look for one in a heavy fabric to keep you warm. Tie it around your neck and tuck the ends into your leather moto jacket for a cool girl look. Mine is from Torrid.
The Infinity Scarf Infinity scarves are fun because they can be worn two ways pretty easily. Since they are one big loop, you can just sling the scarf around your neck and wear it open, or you can double it up (like I did in the second photo) and get a bit more warmth. Mine is from J.Crew, last season.
The Snood Snoods are great for the low maintenance girl. Just one small loop of fabric, snoods are meant to be pulled over your head and rest around your neck. I love these in a thick knit – but even more in luxurious faux fur. The one I’m wearing is from Aldo from last season, a gift from some dear friends.
The Cashmere This is definitely a splurge item – but I had to include it. There’s nothing better than walking around, with a light snow fall and a cup of cocoa in your hand wrapped up in the softest cashmere scarf. Can’t you just picture it?! Add this one to your Christmas wish list, you’ll wear the heck out of it. Mine was a gift from husband, and is by Burberry (linked below)
BONUS! The Gryffindor Okay, okay – I just had to be silly and include this awesome Harry Potter scarf. I remember watching the Sorceror’s Stone (in 2001… woah) and falling in love with the Harry Potter series. I *had* to have one of the signature Gryffindor scarves. I can remember searching the internet high and low until I found out that UK retailer Marks & Spencer did a special limited release for Christmas 2001. I found an eBay listing from a seller in London, and well… I don’t want to tell you how much I paid for this scarf. But I love it, and it got me through all 7 subsequent film releases! Get your own Harry Potter scarf.
Which scarf style is your favorite? I think I need to pick up another snood in faux fur for this holiday season!
